Duro-Last Project Award

This project counting the wall flashes, we were looking at right around 120,000 SqFt. We’ve been repairing this property since I started back in ’93.  We’ve been working with this property management company, but they are of course needing a new roof. So due to them having us continue doing repairs and maintaining their roof, they had a dry substrate. That allowed us to do a re-cover on that roof. There are quite a cost savings there, when you can you can avoid doing all the tear-off.

On the front of this building, they had tall walls about 10-12ft tall. There was siding on it, and he constantly was having problems. We were able to fix his wall problems by encapsulating that whole wall with Duro-Last as it works really well with tall walls.

Since we were able to make this roof system up out of prefabricated rolls, it gave us the ability to lay out a lot of roof area with minimum welding ourselves. This left most of the welding to be performed in the factory there at Duro-Last under ideal conditions. I believe it’s about 85% of all the welding done on the roof when you’re using prefabricated rolls, that is done in the factory. So when we can lessen the amount of welding we have to do, it makes the time go a lot quicker.

When we lay out a roof it’s very important that you lay out the roof properly with the rolls. That makes the operation of the installation of the roof go a lot smoother and faster. That’s another area where we’re very competitive, in our pricing. Our labor rates are going to be less than traditional roll good type products.
